Why make a continuing power of attorney?
To decide in advance who will act in the matters it covers when the grantor can no longer understand them, under the conditions of the law. Drafting involves clarifying wishes, choosing attorneys and setting instructions, and it takes effect only under its terms and the process with the Administrator General. It differs from a notarial power of attorney, which the firm also provides.
An Israeli continuing power of attorney allows a person to plan who will act in specified matters if they can no longer understand them, subject to legal requirements. Preparation involves clarifying wishes, selecting representatives and recording instructions.
The firm also provides notarial services and notarial powers of attorney. Eli Meskin and Gad Even Haim are attorneys and notaries. Continuing powers of attorney and notarial certification are different procedures; the document must fit its intended purpose.

Frequently asked questions
Is a continuing power of attorney a notarial document?
These are different instruments with different purposes and requirements. Preparing a continuing power of attorney requires the relevant legal training; being a notary alone does not replace it.
When does a continuing power of attorney take effect?
Activation follows the document’s conditions and the Administrator General’s procedure when the person can no longer understand the relevant matter. Signing and depositing it do not by themselves activate it.
