How much is pain and suffering after a road accident in Israel?
Under the 1976 regulations the award is a share of an index-linked maximum, currently ₪210,709 (August 2026 index). Each day in hospital adds 0.2% of it and each point of permanent disability 1%. From age 30 the disability part is reduced by 1% for every full year. A 45-year-old with 20% disability and 8 hospital days receives about ₪39,192.

Worked examples
- Age 45, 20% disability, 8 hospital days: disability part ₪42,142, less 15% for age = ₪35,821; hospital ₪3,371. Total ₪39,192.
- Age 25, 10% disability, 3 hospital days: no age deduction. Disability ₪21,071 and hospital ₪1,264, total ₪22,335.
- Age 60, 35% disability, 20 hospital days: disability part ₪73,748, less 30% = ₪51,624; hospital ₪8,428. Total ₪60,052.
What the calculator does not include
- The result is the amount under the regulations, before interest from the accident date, linkage and deductions such as interim payments and National Insurance benefits.
- The disability percentage is set by a court-appointed medical expert. Several impairments are combined, not added.
- Pain and suffering is one head of damage. Loss of earnings, assistance and expenses are calculated separately.
