What is an employee entitled to when a job ends in Israel?
After a year of work, a dismissed employee receives severance of one monthly salary per year. Every ending carries notice, which for a monthly employee after a year is one month. Recuperation pay is due after a year by seniority, at ₪451.5 a day in 2026 in the private sector. Unused leave is paid out; sick days are not.

What the calculator does not include
- Where a s. 14 arrangement applies, pension contributions replace severance in whole or in part.
- Some resignations carry severance, for example for health reasons or relocation. The calculator does not test these.
- For hourly workers, severance is based on the average of the last 12 months; the calculator assumes a steady salary.
- A collective agreement, extension order or personal contract can give more than the law. Tax and the tax-exempt ceiling are not calculated.
