When does a work injury bring a pension, and when a one-off grant?

From 20% permanent disability National Insurance pays a monthly pension. Between 9% and 19.99% it pays a one-off grant of 43 monthly pensions, and below 9% there is no entitlement. The full pension is 75% of pre-injury pay, up to ₪39,428 a month (from 1.1.2026). On a ₪12,000 salary, 19% means a grant of ₪73,530; 20% means ₪1,800 every month.

Worked examples

  • ₪12,000 salary, 19%: full pension ₪9,000, 19% of it is ₪1,710, so a one-off grant of ₪73,530.
  • Same salary, 20%: a pension of ₪1,800 every month.
  • ₪8,000 salary, 10%: a grant of ₪25,800.

What the calculator does not include

  • Injured people under 21 receive a grant calculated as if they earned the national average wage, ₪13,769 (from 1.1.2026).
  • Temporary disability of 9% or more brings a pension for the period set. If the condition worsens to 20% or more, a grant already paid is deducted from the pension.
  • The calculator assumes a steady wage in the quarter. Actual income, additions and the committee's decision determine the amount.
  • The gap between 19% and 20% is a good reason to review the committee's minutes before deciding on an appeal.
